You want to start with MiG welding and don’t have much experience yet. Today I’ll give you a few tips on the best way to get started.

The important thing, and I always mention this right at the beginning, is the protective equipment. We basically need a welding helmet, welding gloves and I always recommend a face mask. When MiG welding, whether stainless steel or aluminum, it releases fumes that are not healthy.

Try to weld in a well-ventilated room, but of course not so strongly ventilated that it blows away your shielding gas during welding.

Important protect yourself NOW simply & cheaply from welding fumes!

The ideal case would of course be a suction system, but you can always simply wear a face mask under your welding helmet.

UTo save you a lot of trouble and problems at the beginning, I recommend that you check whether your welding machine is even capable of welding MiG. I had the same problem when I first tried to weld MiG.

There are some differences in the conveyor rollers and the core in the hosepack, which must really be suitable for MiG. Aluminum is more sensitive and even softer.

Then, of course, the point of shielding gas would be important, because here you have to weld with argon, the 4.6 is completely sufficient. But it’s also important to know that you can do other things here. must use.

Otherwise, MiG welding is similar to mag welding. It’s very similar in style, so I would just say take a few sheets and start practicing.

Of course, there is also spatter formation as with MAG welding. Therefore, if you weld things that are in the visible area, use release spray. Not only for your nozzle, but also for the surfaces where the spray should not stick. With stainless steel and aluminum, the spatter cannot be removed as easily as with steel welding.
