Schwalbe Simson frame reinforcement

Reinforcing Schwalbe frames, that’s the topic here. We asked our community about the weak points of such a frame, and we already knew some of them because we often had to re-weld weld seams, so we decided to take precautions with reinforcing plates.

 

 

 

 

We then localized the weak points relatively quickly and made a weld plate for them directly. So which parts of the frame are we talking about here?

 

 

Let’s start at the top. Here we are talking about the steering head, which we reinforce with knots.

 

 

 

 

Then we go down to the engine mount . There, the weld seams, which are very thin, are originally re-welded and additional gusset plates are used for optimum stabilization. Finally, the stand mount was welded with an additional retaining plate.

 

 

 

These three points were described as weak points by all Schwalbe fans. That is why we have come up with something to prevent this.
