Welding, where mass? Where does the mass go during welding?
Hey welding fans, the question is where is the best place to put the earth when welding?
Welding, where mass? Where does the mass go during welding?
I will of course explain this to you and have one or two tips for you.
So let’s start with where the dimensions should best be located. My advice to you is that the dimensions should always be as close as possible to the part you want to weld! We welders usually have a metal table to which the dimensions are clamped – you just have to make sure that the contact is optimal and that there is no scale or rust on the table.
What options are there if you don’t have a metal welding table? Here you could work with a vice, for example, I always have a machine vice on my welding table. Where I can virtually connect the earth directly and place my welding workpiece on it.
But what happens if it doesn’t work that way? I always have grip tongs on my welding table, they have a very thin beak so that you have many places where you can get directly to the workpiece and then simply clamp the compound to these grip tongs.
This part has also helped me many times Massemagnet
Another possibility would be, for example, if there are threads on the welded part, for example, screwing in a screw and clamping the compound directly to the screw, here it is always important that the thread is also nice and clean.

While we are on the subject of cleanliness, this naturally applies to all points where you connect the mass. The area must always be clean and rust-free, preferably as bright as possible.
For the area where you want to apply the compound, I have another great recommendation for you, namely a cleaning fleece disk with which you only make the surface bare! Quasi from for example rust or color that can be pure here is a link to it
