“Tungsten electrode grinder: A key aspect of TIG welding. Not only for improving the quality of the tungsten electrode, but also for the health of your respiratory tract, as grinding dust is harmful to health and is often underestimated.

 

Occupational safety is of great importance here, especially when grinding the electrode, whether on an angle grinder or a bench grinder. Both methods can lead to injuries, especially if performed manually.

 

An important tip: Use a cordless screwdriver and protect yourself from the sanding dust with a face mask. Even better is a closed tungsten electrode grinder with a filter that keeps the grinding dust inside the device.

 

Here you can optimize the angle, and it makes a considerable difference how smooth the electrode is after grinding. Butt grinding is another improvement option that increases the quality and quantity of welding enormously.
