Pressure gauge/pressure reducer for TIG and MAG welding

I would like to share my experiences with you and tell you what the best setting for the pressure reducer is.

The cheap pressure reducer

I wanted to be clever and save some money and looked for a cheap pressure reducer. Unfortunately, the problem here was that it worked for about a week and then stopped working.

What did he not do anymore he let a lot of gas through in places where it just shouldn’t go out! And I could no longer adjust the pressure properly.

As a result, I either welded with far too much gas or too little. Which of course does not lead to an optimum welding result.

I recommend that you maybe don’t pay too much attention to the money, I’ll also throw you a link here from a very cool part and a company with which I am really satisfied where I have already ordered a lot of welding accessories.

I’m really happy with it and it’s been working perfectly for almost half a year now and I really do sweat a lot.

The processing and the main seal between the pressure reducer and the gas cylinder are of course very important for pressure gauges, so you have to make sure that the surface of the seal is tidy so that it closes properly and no gas escapes uselessly.

For the correct setting, switch on the welding machine and use the torch as if you wanted to weld.

Now you can easily adjust the pressure and I always recommend between eight and ten bar pressure. If you need better gas coverage, for example when welding stainless steel, you can also increase to 12 liters.

Then a little tip: it is really best to weld with a gas lens because it provides optimum shielding gas coverage.
