Aluminum welding for beginners
How do you get started as a beginner in aluminum welding? The most important thing is that the basic settings on the device are already optimal. I.e. gas pre-flow time, gas post-flow time, balance, start and end ampere.
But how do you find the right setting now? I can tell you that you definitely need to set the start ampere time higher at the beginning.
You have to take a close look at the balance as there is no exact specification. It is different for most welding machines. But the motto here is: the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Simply take a sheet of metal to test and see where it is best to weld or how best to crack the oxide layer!
As always, preparation of the work is also important when welding. Cleanliness is the be-all and end-all, so your filler material and the part to be welded must be clean.
Another very important aspect is that the Wig burner and accessories fit and that your gas setting is correct.
And last but not least, it also depends on the burner position. I always recommend making it as easy as possible. Position your tube so that you have little weight on your wrist.
Or save time and money and achieve results quickly and easily.
We have already made a few YouTube videos on the subject and we link to some of them here.
