Our health is simply the most important thing we have and that is why we should pay attention to occupational safety and protect our health in the best possible way.

There are several ways to protect yourself from sweat vapors and gases. Of course, you are best equipped with an extraction system in this area, as it immediately draws the smelly substances out of the room and filters them.

In addition, there are of course two things that I would also recommend. An inexpensive option is a face mask that can be worn directly under the welding helmet. Or even better, as I now really do, work with a fresh air helmet, which also filters the air again, so that you are virtually on the completely safe side. Of course, the slightly cheaper option is of course the filter or mask, but I definitely recommend it for starters. It is very inexpensive and already helps a lot.

If you have ever welded for a while without such protection, you will know how you feel afterwards. Most of the time you get drowsy, headaches, a dry mouth and these are just the signs you have at the moment and not the ones that can come and follow years later.

That’s why I definitely recommend preventing this and protecting yourself as much as possible.

But I also realize that if you don’t weld much and only do it occasionally, the costs are naturally very high. That’s perfectly clear, but there are two things you can definitely do here, namely use a face mask! They are not very expensive and also ensure that the room in which you are welding is well ventilated. Of course, only in such a way that the shielding gas is not displaced during welding.

And for those who weld a lot and often, definitely think about a fresh air helmet and extraction system.
