Electrode welding
Welding fan I salute you
Electrode welding
A super welding process with which you can really do a lot at a reasonable price. So for at home absolutely top and recommendable.
Electrode welding is a super simple welding process where you don’t need much and the purchase price can also be very low.
Basically, you only need the electric welder. Of course, electrodes for welding for the respective material or the respective weld seam. As accessories, a slag hammer would be an advantage to remove the slag from the weld seam after welding and then we are actually already at the welding equipment – welding helmet & protective gloves.
Now you can actually start welding and that is exactly the big advantage of electrode welding, that it is very easy to use in many areas without additional things and the big advantage is that you don’t need shielding gas.
Therefore mostly used on construction sites, but also very interesting for hobby use.
But which electrode do I need for which welding applications? There are several electrodes that can be used for certain areas. This depends on the position in which welding is to be carried out and what exactly is to be done.
Of course, you also have to say which material you want to weld. Stainless steel and aluminum can also be welded with electrodes.
As a result, this welding process really covers a lot of ground and I find it extremely interesting for that reason.
We have made a cool YouTube video with Micha from Böhler Welding about the different types of electrodes. This company is directly specialized in filler materials and therefore I think exactly the right contact for this topic, so just have a look at the video.
