Once again, we had something really big here, where it was once again necessary to produce something individual. The question of what material was clear of course # Aluminum*

 

 

So, what kind of vehicle are we talking about? It’s about a Mercedes Unimog off-road camper. A very special and unique camper, because this conversion is only available once.

 

 

The living area of the Unimog can be extended to a standing height and the cab is retracted when you are driving the off-road truck on difficult terrain. This means you don’t have the large superstructure the whole time you’re driving.

 

Now to what we did,

We were asked to produce an aluminum roof rack that fitted the roof of the Unimog exactly, with branch strips and aluminum boxes integrated into the rack.

 

 

The air conditioning system is located on the roof, which we have converted with the frame. It is no longer so visually striking and is also protected from branches and trees.

 

 

We made the frame from 40×3 aluminum square tube and adapted it precisely to the roof.

 

We built the frame in such a way that it also had space for 3 aluminum boxes.

 

Anyone who goes camping knows that you can never have enough space, so we decided to make good use of the storage space.

The aluminum boxes have approx. the height of the Air conditioning. That,that still a decent Picture results.

 

 

 

 

 

As a highlight, we powder-coated the whole thing, i.e. the roof rack and the aluminum boxes, in the color of the car

This has given the whole thing a mega look in addition.

 

The aluminum boxes are equipped with a seal for water and dust protection. We have used quick-release fasteners to close the seal so that there is still some pressure on the seal.

 

It is also possible to use padlocks for optimum protection.
