5 most common mistakes in TIG welding
Welding fan greetings,
5 most common mistakes in TIG welding
There are always certain things that beginners do wrong or find difficult. Of course I know that from myself too, and I keep getting the same questions, so I know what the problems are at the beginning. With my workshop participants I can always see perfectly live which things always creep in.
When welding, it is important to set the device correctly and prepare the part to be welded properly.
So what do I mean by device here you can of course work a lot with good ones that are not even expensive. This makes welding much easier.
Cleanliness is also the be-all and end-all when welding, i.e. the part you want to weld must be nice and clean. So prepare optimally, clean with acetone or polish with a wire brush. Welding can also clean in between so that the weld seam always remains nice and clean.
Then a point that sounds simple but is really important: make everything as easy as possible, e.g. put the hosepack on your lap or over your shoulder so that it doesn’t rest on your wrist.

That you support both arms on the table, for example, so that you can concentrate fully on the melting bath and then feed the filler material piece by piece.
And when we weld at our welding table in the workshop, we should simply align the part optimally and take 5-10 minutes to do so, as it simply improves a lot in the end.
That brings us to the next thing, namely aligning certain parts so that you can weld easily and relaxed and concentrate fully on the weld pool. There are of course cool tools for this, which I have included below. Here you can simplify many things for little money.
I have also made a YouTube video on this topic. I’ll throw the link in here below for you to have a look. Here you can see the whole five points again in video form.
I hope I have been able to help you with this. I would be extremely pleased to receive feedback. Take a look at our channels, where you can find lots of information about welding every day.
