The question could also be posed differently, namely, what is the best way to start welding aluminum. It’s all about the right welding machine, the right settings and the right accessories.

 

Of course, first and foremost we need an ACDC welding machine that is capable of welding aluminum. But we also need the right tungsten electrode, the right filler material and the right settings for the welding machine.

 

 

For aluminum welding, for example, I use the green tungsten electrodes and usually the filler material ALMG5. It really almost always works and if it doesn’t, then the alsi12.

So maybe I would turn the balance more into the plus and the frequency in the range between 60 and 80 hz.

Oh in the beginning I would just take a 3 mm aluminum practice sheet and start practicing with that. In the beginning, it helped me to use a 3.2 filler material Oh because I was able to achieve the best scaling with this. Make sure that you are not too close to the welding part with your tungsten electrode, you can be 1/2 cm to centimeters away from your welding part with the needle.

 

 

 

 

I also think it is very important to always make sure that you can see the melting bath correctly. This is a really important point, lay out the things you are welding so that you can really see exactly what you need to see.
