Can VW Beetle engine housings be welded and repaired?

 

 

 

 

 

I can answer that with a resounding yes. That’s not a problem, we do it very often, for example. It makes no difference whether it is cast aluminum or magnesium. We can weld both and usually restore them so that they look as they did before.

 

 

Either we can sand the whole thing by hand, preferably with our Norton abrasives, or have it milled or turned with our partner milling cutter in the original look!

 

 

 

 

 

There are always different situations why something like this can occur, it really often happens when the engine housing is being repaired. In other words, the engine is opened up and the bearings and seals are replaced. Unfortunately, it often happens that a part breaks or something breaks off at some point.

 

 

 

 

 

Then we also often have cases where we hear from our customers that, for example, a part simply falls down during assembly and something breaks as a result. Or it is simply due to the age of the part that there are signs of fatigue in some places!

 

 

But as I said, it’s hardly ever a problem for us. We’ve really done a lot of repairs and we enjoy it most when it’s challenging, that’s always what we like best.
