Nickel-iron electrode for cold welding of gray cast iron with lamellar and globular graphite structure and malleable cast iron, also suitable for joining cast iron (GGL and GGG grades) with unalloyed steel materials. A higher strength is achieved than when welding with FICAST NI. The alloy of the weld metal essentially results from the core wire-60 % Ni and 40 % Fe. The weld metal can be machined and is characterized by high crack resistance. It is very similar in color to the base material and also corrodes later than the base material. The soft welding electrode has good wetting properties.
