WELDINGER TIG welding inverter WE 204P AC/DC LCD
Professional digital welding machine of the latest generation for aluminum welding
Versatile use for steel, stainless steel, aluminium, cast iron, copper, bronze, magnesium and galvanized material
The WELDINGER WE 204P ACDC LCD is a digital TIG welding inverter for DC and AC welding. All TIG functions can be controlled and saved via the clearly laid out digital display using modern one-button operation. An integrated parameter diagram provides information at a glance about the selected settings and the status of the welding process.
In contrast to simpler TIG devices, the WE 204P ACDC LCD allows precise fine adjustment of all relevant values to achieve the best results with the respective material. In TIG and MMA mode, 10 welding jobs can be saved in each mode, which significantly shortens work with frequently used material because the settings only have to be made once.
Adjustable in TIG mode:
PRE FLOW The gas pre-flow time is the time between pressing the torch trigger and opening the gas valve until the arc is formed. Under normal conditions, the value should be above 0.5 s. The setting range is between 0.1 and 15 s.
START CURRENT The starting current starts after the burner button is pressed. The higher the starting current, the easier the arc is formed. The setting range is between 5-200 A.
SLOPE UP The rise time from the starting current to the welding current. The setting range is between 0-15 s.
WELDING CURRENT The welding current setting range is between 5-200 A.
PULSE DUTY Here you set the duration of the pulse to influence the depth of the burn-in. While a higher value ensures deeper firing, a lower value means less heat is introduced into the material. This reduces the risk of burning through thinner sheets or small parts during welding. The setting range is between 10-90%.
PULSE FREQUENCY This is the frequency at which the pulse value varies between the welding current and the base current. The setting range is between 0.5-1000 Hz. The default setting should be 100 Hz.
BASE CURRENT The base flow makes it easier to control the heat that is applied to the material. The base current can only be set during pulse welding. The setting range is between 10-90% of the welding current.
AC FREQUENCY This function is required for aluminum welding. The higher the frequency, the better the welding quality and the concentration of the arc. The setting range is between 1-250 Hz. The default setting should be 100 Hz.
AC BALANCE This controls the ratio of the duration between the positive and negative phases. If you reduce the balance value, you introduce more heat into the material, create a narrower seam and a deeper penetration. At the same time, you reduce the heat load on the tungsten electrode. By increasing the value, you apply less heat to the material and achieve a wider seam with less penetration. The load on the electrode is higher. The setting range is between 15-50%, 25% is recommended.
SLOPE DOWN The descent time from the welding current to the final current. The setting range is between 0-15 s
FINAL CURRENT Here you set the final current for the final crater filling. The setting range of the closing current is between 5-200 A.
POST GAS The gas post-flow time is the time from when the arc cools down until the gas valve closes. While gas flows in, it protects the solidifying molten bath from oxidation and cools the tungsten electrode. If the post-flow time is too short, this can result in oxidation of the weld seam. The setting range is between 0.1 and 15 s.
In TIG mode, you also have the option of choosing between normal and pulsed operation, as well as between 2- and 4-cycle operation. A particular highlight is the variability of the wave mode for influencing the arc with thin materials.
Manual electric welding
You can also achieve professional results when electrode welding with the WE 204P ACDC LCD. Welding current and arc force are adjustable. Arc Force allows you to adjust the dynamics of the arc. If the arc length is reduced, the amperage automatically increases to stabilize the arc. A lower value produces a softer arc with lower penetration, a higher value produces a harder, short arc for deeper penetration. The setting range is between 0-100 A. Stick electrodes with a diameter of 1.6-4 mm can be welded.
A suitable electrode holder cable for the WE 204P ACDC LCD is available separately in our store (e.g. article 2007).
The WELDINGER WE 204P ACDC LCD is the ideal welding machine for advanced users. In our store you will find an extensive range of spare and wear parts, as well as tungsten electrodes and TIG welding rods for every conceivable application. As a practical starter set, the TIG set 1 wear part set is already included in the scope of delivery. If you do a lot of TIG welding and attach importance to sharpening your tungsten needles yourself, we recommend the compact WELDINGER TIG grinding boy (item 3726) for optimum sharpening.
