New die grinder module

Our new butt grinder is a separate module designed for butt grinding ground tungsten electrodes for TIG welding. The new butt grinder module can be mounted on our well-known Ultima-TIG and Ultima-TIG-Cut grinders. We also offer a special version for the Ultima-TIG-S.

User-friendly

• Grind an electrode tip on your Ultima-TIG.
• Remove the electrodes from the electrode holder and secure them in the setting of the die grinder.
• Place the electrode holder in the die grinder.
• Switch on the grinder and press the electrode holder to grind the electrode tip blunt.
• Switch off the grinder and remove the electrode from the holder.

The size of the blunt-ground tip can be easily adjusted to any desired diameter.

A special double module with two positions is available if two different electrode tips are required.

The die grinder also works when AutoGrind Digital is mounted on the Ultima-TIG.

For better welding results

There are two main reasons for butt grinding the tip of a freshly ground electrode.

• In high-current applications, the blunt-ground geometry eliminates the risk of the tip melting into the weld seam, which would cause contamination in the weld pool.
• In AC applications, the blunt-ground geometry eliminates the risk of an excessive ball forming at the tip. An excessive ball causes an unstable arc and can break off and contaminate the weld seam.
