UTP 86 FN is suitable for repair and build-up welding on lamellar gray cast iron EN GJL 100 to EN GJL 400, cast iron with nodular graphite (spheroidal graphite cast iron) EN GJS 400 to EN GJS 700, malleable cast iron grades EN GJMB 350 to EN GJMB 650 as well as for joining these materials to each other or to steel and cast steel. Universally suitable for repair, production and construction welding. UTP 86 FN is characterized by very good alloying behaviour on cast iron. It has a smooth arc and produces an extremely flat seam formation without penetration notches. Optimum seam formation is achieved, particularly for fillet welds (e.g. welding GJS nozzles or flanges to GJS pipes). The current carrying capacity and melting performance are excellent thanks to the bimetal core wire. The seam surface is smooth. The weld metal is extremely crack-resistant and easy to machine.
